Great news, the Milton Creek Country Park Trust has received permission to build a new community hub which they are calling “Space in the Park”. When completed this will provide a 16ft x 40ft warm dry space where they can hold meetings, run workshops and classes etc. The space will also be available to local community groups to use for activities and events for a modest fee to cover the running costs.
The Trust is currently fund raising to pay for this project. They are purchasing two new 40ft high cube shipping containers which will be linked together by removing one long side from each unit and adding openings for large windows and doors which will be secured with with metal shutters when the building is not in use. The Trust has so far secured enough funding to purchase and convert the containers but still needs to raise a considerable sum to insulate, line out and equip the building.
