Great news, this is the 9th year running that Milton Creek Country Park has been awarded Gold by South & South East In Bloom. This would not be possible without all the hard work the Park Ranger and his team of volunteers put into the country park week in and week out. What a great team!
ROOM is an arts and event space that is available for hire by local artists, organisations or individuals. For availability please email info@miltoncreek.co.uk. Details of planned events can be found on the What’s On page and on Facebook. Room was on loan but has now been acquired by the MCCP Trust and will be available to hire until it is replaced by the much larger and more useful “Space in the Park”
Every year we try to add a new piece of artwork to the Park. Yesterday (6th March) the Friends and the Kris Staples the park ranger toured the Park with Martin Brockman from Outdoor Studios looking at possible locations and designs for this years installation.
Great news, we have just received planning permission to build a new community hub we are calling “Space in the Park”. When completed this will give us a 16ft x 40ft warm dry space where we can hold meetings, run workshops and classes etc. The space will also be available to local community groups.
The Art Trail (Blue Route) has been re-routed to include three new stone benches that have just been installed. Sculptor Patrick Walls was co-commissioned by Ideas Test and funded by Creative Estuary to design and make them, featuring designs created by the community and pupils from Regis Manor Primary School.
Ideas Test co-commission with Creative Estuary saw artist Patrick Walls ran a sculpture workshop in March. Kyra writes about how the sculptures made at this workshop will be used by Patrick in artworks coming to the Park in the summer
Milton Creek Country Park was a finalist in the Keep Britain Tidy – Love Parks Award 2022 for our Frisby Golf Event held on 27th July 2021 as our first public event after lockdown
We are pleased to announce that the Milton Creek Country Park Trust is now registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) reg. no. 1193109
Unique handmade decorations made by the Friends of Milton Creek. Thanks to everyone who bought something a £125 was raised towards projects in the Park.
The rustic reindeer workshop sessions have all sold out. So we are running a raffle for an extra large reindeer to be drawn on Sunday 19th December. All the proceeds will go the the Friends of Milton Creek to fund further improvements to the Park.
Would you like to try something new. Colouring is an “in the moment activity” that relaxes the brain and calms the body. Sessions are free to attend and all materials are supplied. Relax for a while in the company of other adults and try out this popular new pastime.
