We are a group of local residents who got together in December 2011 to form a Trust to promote and enhance Milton Creek Country Park. In February 2021 the Milton Creek Trust was renamed as the Milton Creek Country Park Trust, which is now registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registration number 1193109. Details are available to the public on the Charity Commission website: www.gov.uk  Click on Find a Charity, Enter registration number 1193109

Changing from an unincorporated unregistered charity, as the Trust has been since its inception, to a CIO gives standing as a separate legal entity (similar to a Limited Company) that can enter contracts, hold property, and employ staff in its own name with trustee limited liability. It also results in greater transparency, scrutiny and public accountability facilitating correspondence with HMRC on charitable tax advantages and also serving to reassure potential funders and donors.

Aims and Objectives of the Milton Creek Country Park Trust

  • Encourage local residents and visitors to use, value and enhance the Park and Creek.
  • Encourage and support the Friends of Milton Creek by securing funding and promoting community events.
  • Engage the local community, in partnership with the Friends, to encourage the environmental, conservation, social and economic well-being of Milton Creek Country Park, as a setting for the regeneration of Milton Regis and Sittingbourne.

Mission Statement

  • To nurture and sustain a green heart for Sittingbourne by engaging the local community in partnership with the Friends of Milton Creek to encourage environmental, conservation, social and economic well-being.
