Since the start of the new year the Friend of Milton Creek have been making great progress completing the interior of Space. The walls have been insulated, studding fitted and clad with OSB and fireline plasterboard. The walls were then jointed, sanded and painted before the lower half was clad with hardwearing PVC sheeting. The electrician came in to do the first fix electrics before the suspended ceiling was fitted so the second fix electrics could be completed. The flooring is being laid this week (9/10th April) and the kitchen unit will be delivered after we have held our Easter bunny workshop.
There are just a few odd jobs left inside like hanging the cupboard doors and fitting the kitchen units.
Then all attention will be paid to completing the hard landscaping and building the disabled access ramps so that the building can be made available to local community groups. This is going to make such a difference to the number of groups that can access and benefit from this wonderful Country Park.
The Trust will be looking for a volunteer to manage the bookings for Space and possibly be available to lock and unlock the building. Please email if this something you might be interested in.
